Anyone familiar with side effects relating to getting acupuncture treatment? If so, what are they?
30th April 2015 at 8:29 pm #104This depends on the acupuncturist you go to – and the system of acupuncture that they practice.
That said, acupuncture does not have side effects and can be used for any condition to help speed up healing or be the main method of resolving a health condition; it all depends on the ability of the practitioner.
Results are usually the only side effect, meaning, you get what you came to the acu doctor for – which is great!
In England however, there are a huge amount of systems of acupuncture, and not all acupuncturist ability is the same – just because your doctor is chinese or korean does not mean they will be good, and the same goes for western doctors who do a weekend course in acupuncture and think they are specialist in needling patients.

30th April 2015 at 8:39 pm #106Of course there are points an acupuncturist should not be using on pregnant women. But they are aware of this – this is why it is important to go to a reputable doctor who you can trust, and not just jump into treatment for the main problem right away.
