Is disease always an outside factor? or is it always internal in eastern medical view of it?

I always thought we created our own sickness, but things like infections and stuff are external.

There are various thoughts on it, but some people say that it still is an inside factor, and that the fact there is a gap in the immune system, there is a possibility of infection. So it still starts with internal factors from mindset and so on.

Interesting concept. I like the idea of it being an internal factor as it is very empowering, although i can see how people with disabilities will not like that idea.

I would think ultimately it is an inside factor, as any weakness in the body, creates the space for the disease to exist.
